Welcome

Welcome and thank you for taking a look at the revised search widget and related projects!

To make sorting your comments out easier, I've separated out what you'll see into three different entries:
  • Search Widget
  • Multisearch for Articles
  • Carrier Front Page Review
I encourage you to comment on whichever of these interest you. You may have comments about all three of these aspects, or only one. That's fine!

Also, please comment on other's comments all you want. The more conversation we can get going here, the better!

Search Widget

Link to Mockup

This new design is based on input from L&ET and from users. Details about the development can be found on the Search Widget Project Page.

The one shown is intended for the Carrier and CISAT front pages. Greg B plans to work with Media Resources, Music, and Special Collections to create ones that make the most sense for their front pages.

We hope to have at least the Carrier/CISAT one ready to go before Fall semester starts, and would love to have all of them done in time for Fall semester.

MultiSearch for Articles

The "articles" tab of the search widget uses MultiSearch, still under development by Serials. This is early in the process of working with this new MultiSearch tool from Serials Solutions.

Carrier Front Page Review

If you look closely, you will notice that the mockup includes small changes to the Carrier Front Page. These changes were based on input received from L&ET, WebTrend statistics, and a review by an Elsevier usability staff. Find details on the Carrier Front Page Review Project Page.

We would like to introduce these changes before the Fall semester.

These changes to the Carrier front page could inspire changes to the other front pages, depending on the needs and desires of CISAT, Media Resources, Music Library, and Special Collections.
